This Is What Got Me Where I Am Now

Career Opportunities

So it is still Friday, my last Friday posting…

Thanks to Rob and Gordon for the invitation!!!

I was 20 years old when I had my first 9 to 5 job, and I promised to my self I wouldn’t try it again. The process of getting a job is just as bad as the actual working experience.

I was fresh out of high school, I had all this plans and working to get some money seemed like the short way to accomplish what I wanted. I was told wouldn’t get no first month pay since I’d be learning how everything worked but was promised to be paid after that since I would then be experienced. After the first week I started producing money for that company, finishing up jobs on my own, and I wasn’t getting any money on my pocket. So by the time my second working month was about to finish with no pay and no signs of it, I went to the owner and told him I wasn’t going to work there anymore. The guy didn’t ask why, I don’t even think he said anything.

Everything is so "Immediate & Remote"

Immediate & Remote

This should be a long post…

Being unemployed gives you the chance of having all the time in the World to do whatever you want or to do nothing at all, it’s like most of the things in life, up to you choosing what you want to do. A long long time ago my mom gave me a camera for me to use in school (I’m a drop out, but did go to school). The camera was a Yashica FX-3 Super2000, unlike the acoustic guitar she also gave me I did not brake the camera in rage slamming it on the wall, I took care of it pretty good for almost ten years, until it got stolen along with all my stuff and a truck in the Mexico/US border back 2007.

Then I did what I do "Any Given Sunday"

ANY GIVEN SUNDAY

I have to say that my biggest and only talent has always been the ability for relating to very talented people, other than that… Some of those acquaintances have turned into friendship and some have not.

Some of which did turn into friendship are MARTI and ROXI, they both happened to have a show last year at the GALERIA José María Velasco.

The Gallery is placed in TEPITO a very old, rough and popular neighborhood, located right next to Mexico City’s downtown.

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon that had it all.

Starting with: great works from this two guys (drawings, paintings and sculptures), free drinks, a lot of beer (not for free), tons of familiar and unfamiliar faces, and ended with some of the assistants being robbed at gunpoint by some of the local thugs, who came riding scooters for an easy get away thru those narrow and crowded streets.

So now I reblog

A couple of months ago I was writing words on paper, I was putting my thouoghts on paper then typing them on the computer.
That was a few months ago...
I did some posts for the Zineswap BLOG, this was the first post.

ANHN

The two months I spent away from here it was a common thing to be asked about the current situation in Mexico, whether it was safe to visit or not, which places I’d say would be best to avoid. My answer was always the same, Mexico in general is a safe place to be, and worth to be experienced.

Mexico City for example is definitively not safe as for you to walk around with your DSLR camera hanging from your neck, or just sitting on a bench with your laptop computer; there are certain areas where you can do that, but it is not the majority of the city. Wherever you chose to go in Mexico you would be missing the bigger picture by hanging out in just one area, it is always fun to walk around and explore.

If I were depressed...

I would wake up early in the morning. Walk up to the kitchen, take out some flour, chocolate drops, butter, water and sugar. Mix it all together, and then I would bake it for 35 minutes in the oven. Take them out and let them cool down for a little over than an hour. the I would eat them all thru the day, while i sit in front of the computer doing nothing else but reading comments and posting my own onto my preferred social network.

Now that would be fun!!!
